Hershey’s Moderation Nation MyBlogSpark Giveaway

by spiceaholic on October 12, 2010

Listen up.  Moderation is in and deprivation is out.

As someone who doesn’t react well to restrictions on my food, but who struggles with controlling myself at times, moderation is something I should strive for.  Enough with the “good/bad” mindset.

I’m always interested in learning more about healthy living and healthy habits.  That’s why I was excited to learn about Moderation Nation, a collaboration between Hershey’s and the American Dietetic Association to help provide tools and resources for achieving moderation.

I briefly mentioned Moderation Nation a few weeks ago when I got to interview Cheryl Forberg, RD, who is the nutritionist for The Biggest Loser and is one of the featured experts for Moderation Nation.

Since then, I have visited the website (www.themoderationnation.com), as well as downloaded the iPhone app, which is a great tool for tracking activity.  The website provides tools such as recipes, tips from experts, and moderation menu plans, among other things.

What a great wealth of resources!  I really encourage you to check it out.

My interview with Cheryl Forberg was part of a generous opportunity from MyBlogSpark and Hershey’s, who also provided me with a prize pack for participating.  The prize pack consisted of a Moderation Nation t-shirt, Hershey’s chocolate, and a nutrition journal and pen for tracking food and activity.

Nice!  What’s even better is that MyBlogSpark and Hershey’s are also letting me give away one of these prize packs to a Spice’s Bites reader!

  2. Leave a comment telling me how you incorporate moderation in your life

I love this idea!

Also, great idea for them to have an App. Too bad I don’t have an iPhone!

I learned that they started this to help people access practical tips, tools and resources for achieving energy balance (nutrition and physical activity).- which is awesome!

I love that there is a meal balancer. It helps plan out the meals to see what needs to be part of the menu. great idea.

I incorporate moderation in my life by setting limits and seeking to stay well-balanced, whether it’s food, time, etc.

I think I am the queen of moderation – not a week goes by where I don’t have a burger, or a slice of pizza – lifes too short to cut some stuff out altogether!

Great giveaway – hope you are having a great week!
