No, I didn’t partake of any illegal substances. I think it’s the morning workouts – you know, stoking the metabolism fire earlier in the morning so it’s raring to go all day. Or something.
Day 4 of morning exercise! I didn’t fight with myself this morning, I almost bounded out of bed instead! Well, as best as I could in a dark room without hurting myself more than I usually do thanks to my klutziness. Continued my Walk Away the Pounds streak this week as well. I figure if I start off with something not as demanding then mentally I won’t fight it. Now if I’d started off with Jillian Michaels’ 30-day Shred or a Firm dvd, you can bet I would have found an excuse to stay snuggled under the covers.
Yet another breakfast sandwich this morning. I do like these, but I think I need to try some different stuff next week. I guess you can have too much of a good thing. That and they’re not that pretty to photograph. I’m sure you’re sick of seeing the “feed me!” shots.
Usually I can tough it out from breakfast to lunch without a snack, but today I couldn’t ignore the hunger pangs, so I gave in an had a blueberry Oikos yogurt.
Can you see the accountant’s best friend in the back? My trusty 10-key calculator!
Since I had the yogurt around 11, I didn’t end up eating lunch until almost 1:30. I nuked up a Lean Cuisine and added extra spinach. This one is actually one of my favorites — it’s part of their Spa Cuisine line, which boasts whole grains and extra veggies.
Adding extra veggies to these frozen meals or having fruit with them is the only way I can get close to full when I have them. Today I was almost feeling smug that all of a sudden the portions didn’t seem so tiny.
Umm, yeah. Not even 30 minutes later, I was snacking on one of these:
Someone had left a few of these in the breakroom for grabs. I’ve bought these before from Costco — they’re basically thin dehydrated potato slices that are pretending to be healthy chips. I think I like the idea of them better than I actually like them. It was only 30 calories, so I didn’t do any damage.
And then a couple hours later, just as I got pulled into a conference call I remembered I had one of these hiding in a desk drawer:
I forgot I had a box of 100-calorie Milky Ways. Good for portion control, but you barely get to enjoy it, they’re so small. That’s the point, obviously. I think I would be better off getting a fun-size bag of peanut M&Ms since you’re at least getting protein from the peanuts. Uh huh.
I’d like to tell you that was the end of the snacking, but it wasn’t. Not by a long shot. I remembered that I had brought some of the chicken I baked up the other night, so I thought if I had some protein that would be a smart choice.
Still not done snacking. I had a couple Sargento’s light string cheeses and some crackers around 5:30. I think this time it was out of boredom since I was doing some tax research. No picture, although I was sure I’d taken one.
And finally we come to dinner.
We had some leftover pasta from the other night, so I had that with a couple of the Trader Joe’s turkey meatballs (I don’t think I like them), spinach, and parmesan.
I’m FINALLY full, so maybe all I needed was some pasta love.
Ever have one of those bottomless pit days? What do you do to shut up the munchie monster?

I hate those bottomless pit days! And they seem to come out of nowhere.
all your eats look great, though!
I hear you on the snacking thing. Our body can behave in so many different ways. There are days when I don’t want to snack and then days like this when I am a bottomless pit!
Thankfully yesterday wasn’t such a hungry day!
