*CLOSED* Krusteaz Holiday Cookie Party + Giveaway

by spiceaholic on December 12, 2016

How is it December already? Thanksgiving seemed to sneak up out of nowhere and here we are already on our way to closing out 2016.

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! We went to visit my parents and my sister was there as well so Baby N got thoroughly spoiled for a whole week. (He’s not technically a baby anymore, since he’s 15 months but until I come up with another alias for him, baby it is!)

While I was back home I took advantage of my time there to see my friends as much as I could and Mr. Spice and I finally got to go see a movie one night after Baby N went to sleep – it was some much-needed date time!

Prior to our trip I was contacted by Krusteaz to see if I’d be interested in having a cookie decorating party. I thought it’d be something fun to do with my friends and our kids and thankfully one of them was generous enough to host all of us!  For the party, Krusteaz sent me a huge package with a tote bag, 2 boxes each of 4 different cookie mixes (Triple Chocolate Chip, Butter Vanilla Sugar Cookie, Snickerdoodle, and Shortbread), some cookie cutters, and icing pen, some food markers, and a gift card for anything else I might need.  All we had to do was have fun and for me to share the experience with you all.

We let the older kids take charge and make the cookies while we supervised and “quality tested” batches.

Then it was time to decorate! I think this was my favorite part.  Baby N was of course too young to decorate and I didn’t get much time since I was busy wrangling him, but I managed to get one done!

I’m so glad we decided to do a cookie party! We’ve never really gotten together with our kids (rightfully so, there’s a lot of them to keep track of!) but this was a great way to keep them all busy.  The cookies were delicious! I loved how easy they were to make — all you need to do is add the cookie mix to some softened butter and eggs and you’re set!  My favorites were the snickerdoodles and the triple chocolate chip. But who am I kidding, they were all good and it’s a good thing there were kids around to eat the cookies!

Thanks again to the folks at Krusteaz for providing us with all the goodies to make it possible. They’ve also been generous enough to offer a similar cookie kit to one of you!  You’ll receive everything I did minus the gift card, so a tote bag, icing pen, cookie cutters, food markers, and 4 different types of cookie mix.

This will be a short giveaway, lasting only 3 days so don’t miss your chance!  All you have to do is leave a comment telling me which of the mixes you’d like to try and/or your favorite cookie decorating tip.

Giveaway is limited to U.S. residents age 18 and over. Giveaway runs from Tuesday, December 13th, 2016 through 10pm EST Thursday, December 15th, 2016. Once I’ve selected a winner, I will email you to get your contact info, so make sure you enter an email address when leaving a comment (it won’t show up in the comment). Winner has 48 hours to reply or else I will have to select another winner.

UPDATE:  Congrats, Tonya! You won the cookie prize pack!

*Disclosure: Krusteaz provided me with the items described above. I did not receive any compensation and am not obligated to post a positive review. Any opinions are my own. Krusteaz is providing the prize for the winner of the giveaway.

Instead of using icing, we sometimes use egg yolks mixed with food coloring and “paint” the cookies before we bake them.

I would really love to try the Snickerdoodle mix. I love to add chocolate chips to my cookies and sometimes I add a bit of coconut flour also.
Happy holidays!

This sounds so fun. As part of my New Year’s promise to have more friends over, I’d love to win. My favorite is snickerdoodle.

I love snickerdoodles, but really I’ve never met a cookie I didn’t like. 🙂
My cookie decorating tip is: if you’re using a lot of sprinkles, decorate the cookies on a cooling rack set inside a cookie sheet. The sheet will catch all the sprinkles and nonpareils that fall, so you’ve got a much smaller/easier mess to clean up.
