Elegant but easy appetizers made with puff pastry, shaved Parmesan cheese, fresh rosemary, and cracked black pepper, these savory puffs are sure to be a hit!

Once again, these were something I thought up while I was at work.  I’m starting to see a correlation here — the busier I am, the more of a creative outlet I seem to need.  (There’s also another pattern I notice when I’m busier at work –I can’t get enough of murder mysteries and forensics shows.  Can’t quite explain that one yet!)

I was originally envisioning these with just Parmesan cheese and cracked black pepper, but rosemary seemed to bring it all together.  I’m lazy and used frozen puff pastry, I don’t think I have the knack or patience to make puff pastry from scratch, but feel free to use homemade puff pastry if you have it.  And then show me how it’s done. But after tax season, when I can think again.

Either way, these puffs are incredible and need to be made NOW!

Parmesan Puffs with Rosemary and Cracked Black Pepper

Ingredients

1 sheet puff pastry, thawed per package instructions
1/2 cup shaved Parmesan cheese
1 tbsp. fresh rosemary, chopped
cracked black pepper

Preparation

Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place thawed puff pastry sheet on parchment paper, and using a biscuit cutter, glass, or small lid, cut out approximately 9 circles. I used the cap of my cooking spray. Remaining pastry scraps can be manipulated into whatever shapes you would like.
